And then that word registered. "Clippers?" I queried.
"Yeah, I like to use them for bobs. I find it easier to hold the line than with scissors" she replied, disarmingly. She reached forward and touched my hair, running the backs of her fingers down its length for a few inches.
"I'm thinking of something that will be striking, head turning" she said.
"Unlike the way it is now" I queried, with mock indignation.
"This is more like a shampoo commercial, if you don't mind me saying. What I have in mind is in a different league" she said. She looked at me intently.
"So, what do you say?" she asked.
"I like my hair like this" I said more meekly than I intended.
