She leaned her head against the head rest and enjoyed it, as Sandy began to shave her head beginning at the hairline over her brow. She also shaved between the little horns, so that the amount of remaining hair was reduced even more. She was sure that she’d be able to count the few remaining hairs without much trouble. Maybe she’d do it someday.
Feeling how the blade went over her temples was an incredible sensation. Sandy pushed down Anne’s ears firmly and with gentle force, so that she could shave off even the last hair shadow, without cutting her. Then Anne had to press her head forward and down, and she was glad that the others now couldn’t see her face, because she was radiating with happiness, she was so glad to be shaved bald.
Then she saw all the cut off hair. She had to agree with her mother, it really looked disgusting. Hard to believe, that a moment ago she still wanted to have all that on her head. Even though she was sure she didn’t have any lice, surely there were some bacteria or germs in it. To have a bald head was much more hygienically and also more practical.
Slowly it her head was beginning to feel cooler. She believes she can feel each whiff, the slightest air movement, and even Sandy’s breath on her scalp. Her senses were somehow … amplified, how could she have been holding so long to her long hair?
With firm strokes Sandy also shaved the right side smooth.
“Tell me Anne …, do you want to keep your eyebrows?"
“Yes?"
“Do you really want to keep your eyebrows?"
Anne twitched and a shower went over her back. She hadn’t thought about that.
“Honestly …"
“Yes?" Sandy and Anne’s mother were all ears.
“Honestly I’d rather have them off."
Sandy laughed. “I thought so, it looks better with this haircut."
